Interviewing
at Amazon

You’ve filled out an application, spoken with our recruiters, and have likely done an online assessment, or completed a phone interview.

Now you’re ready to progress to the final interview stage, or ‘Onsite’. While the majority of these interviews are run virtually, this will be your opportunity to meet with several Amazonians who work in the business.

Whichever part of the business or location you're interviewing for at Amazon, our process is run in the same way globally so that all our candidates have a consistent and fair experience.

1.
Interview Scheduling

If you’re offered an interview, you’ll be asked by the recruiting team to send a selection of possible dates that you’re available. As soon as you provide your preferred interview dates, the team will start making arrangements for your interviews.

During the Onsite interview stage, you will have up to six separate interviews, depending on your level of seniority, so prepare to keep a number of hours free for this.

Interview Process

Now it’s onto the interview stage! The majority of our interviews are conducted virtually, but in very rare circumstances, you could be asked to come into an Amazon office. The recruiting team will provide you with all the details you need for either setting. For more information on virtual interviews, visit our Remote Interviews webpage.

A recruiter will contact you regarding preparation for your interview. You can also find valuable information on how to prepare for your interviews in the following chapters.

3.
Interview Evaluation

After you have completed all your interviews, the interviewers will meet to discuss how your interview experience went, and to make a final decision regarding your application. During this discussion, we are looking to see if candidates are both a fit for Amazon and the role. If the interviewers think you’re a fit for the role, we’ll move to the offer stage. If we think you’re a great fit for Amazon but the role isn’t quite right for you, the recruiting team will work to see if there’s a better role for you on the team or in another part of the business.

4.
Interview Outcome

After the evaluation, someone from the recruiting team wilI get in touch to let you know the outcome of your interview. It’s our commitment to notify all candidates within five business days, following your final interview.

PLEASE NOTE: we can only inform you of the final outcome of your application, rather than specific feedback on interviews. Please look out for a quick post-interview survey via email. We value your feedback since it allows us to continually improve our process for candidates.
